Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Correctional Nursing Duration: 26 weeks Shift: 07:00 - 23:00 Hours per Shift: Varies, includes two 8-hour shifts and two 12-hour shifts weekly Experience: Minimum years of experience not specified License: RN license required Certifications: BLS certification required Must-Have: - Experience working in a highly autonomous setting - Skill in assessing patient conditions utilizing the nursing process - Ability to manage acute and chronic diseases or terminal conditions - Experience monitoring and reporting observed reactions to treatments or medications - Proficiency in medication administration processes adhering to medication rights for patient safety - Competency in completing medication refills per Provider orders and established procedures - Ability to accurately and timely transcribe Provider orders - Skill in assessing signs and symptoms of patients reporting health concerns - Capacity to implement appropriate care interventions based on assessment outcomes - Experience treating conditions within the scope of nursing practice - Proficiency in completing point of care sample collection, including phlebotomy - Ability to administer vaccines and other IM/SubQ medications - Experience leading emergency response and interventions for patients in physiological distress in alignment with BLS standards - Skill in delegating and overseeing tasks to licensed and unlicensed personnel per licensure and scope of practice - Competency in accurate and complete documentation of all patient care and encounters within an electronic health record - Ability to provide patient education regarding medications, medical diagnoses, and interventions Description: Utilize assessment skills to evaluate patient conditions in a correctional setting. Manage and treat both acute and chronic conditions with appropriate nursing protocols. Monitor and report any adverse reactions to treatments or changes in patient health. Administer medications while adhering to safety and accuracy guidelines. Transcribe provider orders accurately and in a timely manner. Conduct assessments for patients presenting health concerns and implement care interventions. Collect point of care samples, including performing phlebotomy. Administer vaccines and medications as required. Lead emergency response initiatives for patients experiencing distress. Delegate tasks to colleagues while ensuring compliance with licensure. Document all patient interactions and care within the electronic health record. Educate patients about their medications, diagnoses, and overall health plans. About Cynet Health
